Remember when we all had to actually put film in our cameras? When we would spend time in the dark room?  When touching up photos meant something more than a few clicks of a mouse?  If you are like us, you made the switch to digital a decade ago.  I am pretty sure you can’t even buy film at Walmart or Target anymore, now only available through specialty retailers.

This article posted earlier today on shows there are still enough enthusiasts out there to keep the camera business alive.  Kodak says they still plan to make film as long as there is a viable market for it.  But as the article states, when these people’s cameras break down, they with replace them with digital.  It will be a sad day when they are all gone, photography will never be the same.

It is sad indeed that an era of photography has reached its conclusion. There was a style and grace to photography that I fear has been replaced by an apathetic button pushing, tech enslaved public. I am a child of tech without question but have an undying respect for those that came before me and set the standard by which I gauge my artistry.

They say a home is a reflection of the people who live there. My home is full of photographs. These pictures
are a diary of my life. I could not imagine not being surrounded by the images of those I love, friends of many
years and events evoking precious memories. No matter how the world changes photographic technology,
there will always be snapshots of life – and what once was – will always be!
